Friday March 3 sees Project X, Singapore’s first and only rights based sex workers organisation, present its first fundraising dinner, Popping The Cherry, at Blisshouse, celebrating International Sex Workers Rights day.
Project X invites you to join them in commemorating International Sex Workers Rights day with a Katy Perry California Girls themed fund raising dinner at popular themed restaurant Blisshouse, giving you the chance to learn more about the work it does and to help in its fund raising mission.All money raised will be used to fund day-today operations of Project X, including the purchase of condoms and lubricants; capacity building for staff and community leaders, the running of the community centre as well as conducting research and educating the public. Funds raised will be donated entirely to the community, with 75% of the Project X team being made up of former sex workers.
Project X team members show their commitment t Pooping The Cherry on the night by undertaking activities that are well outside of their comfort zone; such as a meat eater going Vegan for the night, an acrophobic conquer the GX-5 Extreme Swing and many more. Blisshouse is a halal restaurant and there are vegetarian options as well, with tickets at S$68 for sex workers and S$98 for non-sex workers. For those that can’t make it on the night but want to donate, you can do so through the Project X crowd funding platform.
